Learning Log 6

This past 2 weeks have been hellish. It was bad enough that our project was due. But, we couldn't even get the installation working properly due to a lot of pre-requisites. These would include installing a RouterOS that we weren't sure of the effects. Another would require us to install with admin privileges. Which is impossible for us to set up during class.

Learning Log 5

This week progressed as it normally does through and through. This time we've been tasked to create our tutorial and feed back on the network software we've been given. It all progress smoothly since our proffesor was kind enough to give us tips on complicated linux installations.

Learning Log 4

The Report on our paper seems to somewhat feel fulfilling. Though it would seem inadequate at some points, such as a sample company's networking profile. We were still able to give a proper presentation due to our prof's guidance. Some of the objectives that we need to work on are: to improve the given case without sacrificing too much of the performance due to inferior parts used.

Learning Log 3

These past 2 weeks, we've been working on our research paper. Though it would've been confusing as to what to write, who to write to and what should be written? it was easy to identify since our professor was guiding with detailed consultations.

Learning Log 2

This next couple weeks we were taught mainly about packet tracer and its ability to simulate real-time network interfaces. I never really appreciated the hassle it took to set up a network until I did it myself in packet tracer. Though the interface may be a bit complicated the professor made it simple enough to be followed. Also, the added information after every new line of code is a nice touch to give us reason why we use those codes, instead of blindly typing them, believing that they work, simply because they're the right code to type.

Learning Log 1

The first 2 weeks were as what a standard class would be; lectures, reporting's and exercises. Though it may seem like it was uneventful and somewhat unfruitful, what I learned during that span was more that what I expected. This would include various reasons why certain network problems occur.

Such reasons would include the overall fault tolerance of a system. Normally, I thought as a customer, I would be the center of priority in network maintenance but, due to a lengthy explanation of our professor  on budget management and network planning, I realized that I'm only significant until I leave the cash processing network, afterwards I'm nothing more than wasted bandwidth and tickets, apparently.
